ウエスタンデジタル、エンタープライズクラスの新製品 WD Gold NVMe SSD

ウエスタンデジタルコーポレーション（NASDAQ: WDC）は、SMEのお客様のNVMe™ストレージへの円滑な移行と、アプリケーションパフォーマンスの劇的な向上を可能にする、エンタープライズクラスNVMe SSD をWD Gold™製品ファミリーに加えます。

IT専門調査会社のIDCによると、NVMeデバイスの出荷数量は、2023年までに市場の79パーセント以上に達する見込みです^注1。マルチコア、マルチスレッドCPUが高度化する中で、従来のストレージ技術はアプリケーションパフォーマンスの向上を阻むボトルネックとなっています。

本日発表したWD Gold NVMe SSDは、2.5型U.2インターフェースの製品で、4つの容量モデルを揃えています。2020年第2四半期出荷開始の予定です。WD Gold NVMe SSDは、サーバーのプライマリストレージを想定して設計されており、従来のエンタープライズ用SATAデバイスに勝るレスポンスタイム、高スループット、優れた拡張性を誇ります。WD Gold NVMe SSDは、先に発売されたWD Gold HDDを補完し、低遅延性や高スループットを必要とするアプリケーションやデータセットに向けて高パフォーマンスストレージ層を提供します。

新しいWD Gold NVMe SSDは、ウエスタンデジタルの3D TLC NAND技術、専用ファームウェアおよび独自の統合型コントローラなど、シリコンからシステムに至る専門技術を用いて設計されています。お客様は、停電時のデータパスの保護、ならびに5年に延長された製品保証がもたらす高い信頼性により安心して使用いただけます。また、セキュアブートおよびセキュアイレーズによるデータ管理保護が強化されています。
